Expansion Project

"Building For Better Care Project"

Our Building for Better Care” project is moving forward and we are excited!

The architects are putting the final touches on the layout and design of the new area. The project includes an approximate 7,000 square foot medical clinic with 15 exam rooms, a new hospital lab, procedure room and business office and front entry.  The project will close Maple Street, allowing a cul-de-sac entry and add additional parking. Watch for future drawings/pictures of our expansion project to be displayed on this web site!Click on "PHOTO ALBUM" to see the latest architect renderings.

In January 2008, Harper Hospital was chosen as a recipient of a $400,000 grant through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to be used for our “Building for Better Care” project.  The award of this grant is a positive thing not only for Harper Hospital but also for all of Harper County!  (See News Release: http://www.kansascommerce.com/Services/News/NewsReleaseDetail.aspx?postID=519)

In addition to the $400,000 CDBG grant, the $150,000 Kansas Tax Credits, and the use of Harper Hospital’s own cash reserve funds in the amount of $361,000, USDA Rural Development is financing the remaining cost of the project. Financing with USDA Rural Development is attractive to Harper Hospital as a public body as it provides low interest loans.  By using a combination of the direct and guarantee loan programs it gives us an opportunity to work as a partnership with local lenders in enhancing the delivery of health care in our communities.  We are pleased to announce that both Freeport State Bank and Kanza Bank are working with Harper Hospital and USDA in the financing of the project.

Please feel free to call or stop in if you have further questions about our project. We want our patients, communities and supporters to be part of the excitement as we work toward “Building for Better Care.”

"Quality Care Right Here At Home"

Our projected start date is November 2008
